Nov 22, Mary Kay Ash (b.1918), founder of the Mary Kay cosmetics firm, died in Dallas. By 2001 her 1963 sales force of 11 had grown to over 750,000 in 37 countries.

Nov 22, North Dakota student Dru Sjodin (22) was last seen at the Grand Forks, ND, mall, where she worked. Her body was found the following April near Crookston, Minn. Suspect Alfonso Rodriguez Jr., released from prison 6-months before the murder, pleaded innocent to kidnapping resulting in Sjodin’s death. In 2006, a jury found Rodriguez (53) guilty of kidnapping and killing Sjodin and was sentenced to death. North Dakota’s last execution was in 1905
