Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala Appears at WTO Screening
Nigeria’s former minister of finance and coordinating minister of the economy, Dr Okonjo-Iweala, appeared at the screening organized for the candidates to the position of DG at the Geneva headquarters of the World Trade Organization Wednesday, July 15, 2020.

According to the update on 7th October, 2020, The World Trade Organization (WTO) is set to appoint its first female Director-General in its twenty-five years of existence after its members selected Nigeria’s candidate, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and South Korea’s candidate, Yoo Myung-Hee, as the final two candidates.
Also, the winner of the final round would be announced on November 7, a few days after the United States presidential election.
