8 Medium-sized carrots                                            Salt

2 oz. grated cheese                                                 pepper

2 oz. breadcrumbs                                                   milk to mix

½ teaspoonful mixed herbs.                                    Brown sauce



Scrub and cook carrots whole. While cooking, mix cheese, breadcrumbs, herbs, and seasoning with little warm milk to a consistency that can be handled. Split cooked carrots and fill with the mixture. Brown under the grill and serve with brown sauce.
